Amount of Rs 234 crore 90 lakh 25 thousand distributed to 1 lakh 13 thousand 343 farmers for Kharif year 2021.

The ambitious Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana of the state government is bringing economic prosperity to the farmers of the district.

It has proven to be beneficial in boosting the income of farmers and improving their standard of living.

Inspired by this scheme, many youths have adopted farming in the district.

Meanwhile, under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, an input subsidy of Rs 9,000 per acre is being given for all crops and Rs 10,000 per acre for alternative crops instead of paddy.

Farmers producing Kodo, Kutki, and Ragi are also getting its benefits. An input subsidy amount of Rs 10,000 per acre is being given for cultivation of Kodo, kutki, sugarcane, arhar, maize, soybean, pulses, oilseeds, aromatic paddy, other fortified paddy, banana, papaya or tree plantation instead of growing paddy.

Farmers who opt for tree plantation instead of paddy cultivation will get the amount of input subsidy for 3 years.

Farmers of the district are getting benefited on a large scale from this scheme.

Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, for the Kharif year 2021, an amount of Rs 234 crore 90 lakh 25 thousand has been paid to 1 lakh 13 thousand 343 farmers in 3 installments.

The amount has proved to be of great help to farmers. They are now able to purchase advanced seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides easily, besides adopting advanced scientific techniques for higher yield.

The irrigation area has increased by 15, 858 hectares in the district in the last four years through Shakambhari, Kisan Samridhi, Uthla Nalkoop, and check dam construction schemes of the Agriculture Department.

There has been an increase of 3,274 hectares in the area under minor cereal crops. Farmers have started using tractors and modern agricultural machinery in abundance for farming, which has led to increasing in crop production and profits.

In the district, a total of 109 tractors and 250 different types of modern agricultural machinery have been distributed to the farmers at subsidized rates.
