Extensive public awareness campaigns should be run for the prevention of cyber crimes – Deputy Chief Minister Sharma

Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma inspected the State Cyber Forensic Lab located at the Police Headquarters on Friday. During this visit he observed various equipment and software being used in the lab.

This includes mobile forensic software, hard disk forensic software and video analysis process. He also reviewed the reports received from various districts and review report sent by the lab.

The Cyber Crime Branch provided information about the work being done by the State Cyber Forensic Lab, Regional Cyber Crime Coordination Center, State Cyber Police Station and 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline Center for the prevention of cyber crime.

Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Sharma directed to initiate a comprehensive public awareness campaign for the prevention of cyber crimes and asked to include schools and colleges in the campaign. Besides he also directed to partner with educational institutions to equip police officers with new emerging technologies in information technology.

During the inspection, Director General of Police Ashok Juneja, Additional Director General of Police Pradeep Gupta, Assistant Inspector General of Police Kavi Gupta and other employees of Cyber Forensic Lab were present.
